MathKEY was developed after detailed analysis
of the "most popular" math textbooks used in public schools throughout the country. After 3 years of research, we have put together
a sequence of math skills that experts agree should be taught in each elementary grade from Grade 1 to Grade 5. MathKEY
then goes to the next level and even tells you the week in school that the skill is normally taught as well! This not only keeps your

Before we began development of the MathKEY project, we set out with specific goals in mind. These included:

IMPROVED PHYSICAL LAYOUT
Our primary goal was to design a working physical website that would simply be "easier to look at." By easy we mean - easier for you to understand and easier to navigate through the math skills that you'll be teaching. To achieve this, we designed a site that would immediately show the teacher what math skills should be taught for any grade while at the same time showing when the skill should taught. For a teacher or parent to have confidence in their program, they need to clearly know the sequence of what to teach and precisely when to teach the skill in each week of the school year.

MAKE EASIER OF USE
We want your experience with MathKEY to be easier than with any other program. Click on a grade level above and you'll see a column text list of 120-150 math skills for that grade. If a skill is listed as 7A it means it should be taught in week seven - 12C means it should be taught in the middle of week twelve, etc. When you click the skill description text link you'll immediately see a real example of the skill appear on the right of the page.

PROVIDE QUICK ACCESS TO WORKSHEETS
For a student to learn a new skill, it begins with the teacher taking a few minutes to teach how it should be done. After the teaching process, we then must provide the opportunity for the student to practice the skill on their own. This allows us to see if the skill is mastered by the student. Therefore, once you identify a skill you would like to practice with your student(s), you can quickly print the practice worksheet for the skill from the clearly marked WORKSHEET button at the top of each skill page!

PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY WORKSHEETS
Math worksheets are a dime a dozen so we wanted to take worksheet quality to the next level. By doing this we increase effectiveness and student interest. Therefore, we have invested considerably more time into quality color graphics and worksheet design to create a truly superior product. Our worksheet improvement efforts continue daily as we add more content and higher quality content. |
